Hi all. How do these work? Are my ingame chats saved somewhere in the
COH directory? Are they openable? Deletable? Can I turn a chat log on
and off? Thanks in advance :)

Go to MENU / OPTIONS in the game, and turn CHAT LOGGING on.
Default directory is:
C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\logs\game

Default saved file name is:
chatlog ##-##-####.txt (MM-DD-YYYY = [M]onth-[D]ay-[Y]ear)

You can assign a key to do this by the way to toggle it on or off I
think.

Yep, using /logchat. Not 100% sure of the syntax - might be a simple
toggle, or a 0/1 arg.

There's also /copychat, which will dump the contents of the current chat
window to the system clipboard. Useful for when you want to save an
interesting sequence of chat.

Which takes an arg, the name of the chat tab to save:

/logchat Combat
/logchat Global
/logchat SG

Also found Johnny Sonata and figured out I had him unlocked a couple of
levels ago... *sigh*. Coulda used that while I was wearing out a whole
newspaper subscription.

The info I found with a quick google was:

Veluta - 5-10 - Pirate (Trap 50 Ghosts)
/loc -2509, 108, -823 in Port Oakes

Henri Dumont - 20-25 - Strike Buster (defeat a bunch of scrapyarders)
/loc 853, 32, -261 in Sharkhead

Doc Buzzsaw - 25-30 - Bling (first infamy badge)
/loc 693, 32, 1342 in Sharkhead

Archmage Tarixus - 25-30 - Lore Keeper (a history badge)
/loc 793, 16, 1781 in Sharkhead

Crimson Revenant - 30-35? - Hammer Down (defeat Scrapyard)
/loc -3.7, 103.5, 6636.5 Nerva

Kristof Jeager - 25-30 - Villain (defeat a bunch of Longbow, confirmed
as bugged) /loc 2123.6 16.0 7712.9 in Nerva

Slot Machine - 30-35 - Gangbuster (defeat a bunch of family Marcone
bosses) /loc -1925, -156, 2344 in St. Martial

Johnny Sonnata - 35-40 - Obsessed (get any 50 badges)
/loc -1699, -160, 2114 in St. Martial

So I had a bunch of them unlocked but never knew it/outleveled them
first.

How anyone could get the pirate badge while still being in range other
than having a high level friend do all the work I just can't imagine.

Lord know no level 5-10 character would be able to fight the ghosts.

Unless she changed recently, she goes up to level 15 not 10. And it's
still not possible to get that badge without help from a high level
character, unless you don't mind getting max debt and spending way too
much time.

There's another hidden contact in the 35-40 range...Can't remember his
name, but he's near the Mu'(somethingorother) contact in Nerva and he
requires you have the respec trial badge. Be warned though, he has some
of the most annoying missions in the game, arachnos bases + EB/AV + all
mu or fortunatas = not fun.

Just repeating the info i'd dug up.

Fortunatas could maybe be a pain, but i'd laugh at mu.

When you're elec armor, mu are a joke.

Those toxic tarantulas on the other hand really ruin my day.

Unfortunately, I don't have a respec badge; yes i'm level 39 and haven't
done one yet - I forgot. Then again I haven't done any strike forces
either.
